Dutch term
ingebaald

Zoology
Is this just a synonym for 'opgezet' i.e. stuffed? Or is 'mounted' the preferred term these days? Very few googles either in this or in the infinitive form and none relate to taxidermy!
Text about a museum and its various collections.

With ingebaald/inbalen there is an emphasis on not just gutting an animal, but skinning it, getting rid of everything internal and then stuff it with some dry material that provides support to the skin.
A bale of cotton is simply a (canvas) bag stuffed with it. So a the skin of a bird or bunny would be the same thing. I suppose ingebaald would only apply to small animals, since large ones need a frame of sone kind for support, rather than merely cotton or hay.
