Compound:
Known as confectionery coating. A blend of sugar, vegetable oil, cocoa powder and other products. Vegetable oil is substituted for cocoa butter to reduce the product cost and to develop special melting profiles.

Compound Chocolate: This is composed of hard vegetable fat mixed with sugar, cocoa powder or powdered milk as well as flavorings. It is used for molding and dipping and can be produced in various colors.

Compound chocolate is a blend of chocolate liquor, powdered milk instead of fresh milk, emulsifiers and oils, sans cocoa butter and lecithin. This chocolate is a cheaper grade of chocolate that is more malleable for melting, but has stiffer ingredient issues to pursue, namely the oils and emulsifiers. White chocolate is an example of a chocolate blend, as are chocolate coatings used to coat candies.

AS per my understanding, and as per the aforementioned sites, the chocolate compound is made of certain ingredients other than those ingredients used in manufacturing chocolate from cacao
