Johannes Gleim Jan 29, 2015:
More context please! The list looks being a illustration of a photo or drawing. Can you please send us a link to this illustration? It's also probable, that each item is described in detail further down. Can you please sent us this description?
Philippe Etienne Jan 29, 2015:
Of course Tony! Silly me. It is the radio wake-up mode! As you rightly pointed out, the Alarm mode is the buzzer.
Tony M Jan 29, 2015:
@ Philippe Sometimes, this sort of device has 2 separate settings: one where the radio comes on to wake you up, and one where it buzzes or beeps or whatever.

That's the only thing I can think of that it could be, as you say , by elimination — it needs to be a function that is mutually exclusive with the others, so that rules out certain possibilities. I think 'alarm' = beep and 'auto' = wake up to radio; I expect Asker has this information and can confirm or not).
Philippe Etienne Jan 29, 2015:
Fonction Auto?

In the absence of fuller context, I can only assume that's probably what it is referring to.

I really just wanted to make sure it was understood that this is not an 'indicator that works automatically', but rather, an 'indicator to show that automatic mode is in operation'.

Merci, Abel ! Oui, en effet.
agree Philippe Etienne : Now that I am tuned in about Auto, Abel's concise wording sounds good too.
