You really need to find out, either from the rest of your document, or by asking the customer, just what they mean by 'hold' here, and indeed, what it is that is being 'held'. The trouble is, 'hold' is a slightly unusual word to use, which suggests that there may be a lot more to the meaning than at first meets the eye.
For example, 'hold' might mean to maintain something in a certain condition, like 'holding a door open'; but it could also mean pause or temporarily suspend something "Hold everything a minute!" — so just there, we find 2 almost opposite meanings, and others are possible, depending on what it is that is being 'held' and why.
