This is from a safety audit for a brazing laser station. It is one item on a checklist of features which are listed either as "fonctionnement correct" or "non conforme". The safety audit was carried out by a third-party company and this is their standard boilerplate text for all laser installations that they audit.

I'm not sure how best to render "Asservissements des carters de l’équipement", I'd imagine "carters" are the machine casings but I'm not sure how they can be "asservis." Any help?

Although 'asservissement' is often connected with servo systems, I think here they are using it in its less literal sense, of a simple safety interlock, so as to disable the device if the covers are opened (common on higher-power laser systems).
