French term

époque moderne

French to English Social Sciences History
Defined as the era between the 15th and 18th centuries in source text and elsewhere. Does this timeframe have an official name in English or will I have to settle for an explanatory translation?

Context:

L'époque moderne (du XVème au XVIIIème siècle) est caractérisée par l'essor industriel, commercial et territorial de l'Europe.

Thanks in advance!

Some historians place the start date later than others a lot of these references give the same dates as you.

there was supposed to be a 'but' in there - *but* these references give the same time period as you.
