estou com problemas na instalação e configuração do PHP e do Apache no Linux, então estou buscando os arquivos antigos de respostas desta lista e alfguns tutoriais, e sempre leio esta expressão que não entendo "descomentar a linha ...", o que é descomentar uma linha?:-)

Resposta:
São o comentário e um texto que se colocam no meio do codigo de um programa para descrever ou avisar sobre algo. Os comentarios sao idicados por algum caractere no começo da linha, os mais comuns sao, "#,;,//,/* e */,(* e *), etc". em php sao usados o #,// eo "/* */"
/* */ e para comentar um bloco de texto, # e // e para uma linha. No capitulo 5 do manual do php tem maiores informacoes.

Entao, descomentar uma linha e remover o caractere marcador de comentario. Arquivos de configuração normalmente usam o #.
ex: httpd.conf
# Extra Modules
#LoadModule php_module modules/mod_php.so
LoadModule php3_module modules/libphp3.so

A linha "# Extra Modules" e uma informativa, as seguintes configuram o php, no caso so o php3 esta ativado. (outra eo php2)
