I know it sounds funny, but that's exactly how people order it at restaurants. After I noticed that my husband had ordered it, I said in protest: "That's not chicken! That's steak!" And then he explained to me that, yes, it is steak that was "fried in the chicken style..."

If you think about the history behind it, everything makes sense. The deep-frying method was introduced in the U.S. by African slaves.
