galley

This is the first word that came to mind. Even though galleys are usually found in ships, airplanes, etc., the word can also be used for other types of kitchens.

food preparation station

According to the text I have included here. There are cooks, chefs and food preparation workers, who work at stations. Based on these facts, I thought it better to describe "gambuza" since there is no specific term for it in English.

Food preparation workers perform routine, repetitive tasks such as readying ingredients for complex dishes, slicing and dicing vegetables, and composing salads and cold items, under the direction of chefs and cooks. They weigh and measure ingredients, go after pots and pans, and stir and strain soups and sauces. Food preparation workers may cut and grind meats, poultry, and seafood in preparation for cooking. Their responsibilities also include cleaning work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.
Peer comment(s):

agree Mary Palmer : very good Lsogl. I was actually going to ask for clarification about this question. It says "Place Where Entrees & Desserts are Prepared", so it can't be a storage room in this case (although that's what "Gambuza" is).
