Relatório de Exame Técnico
This is a translation of a patent application review. I am trying to understand the context of the word "objeto" here. There are two occurrences of "objeto". However, I am interested in understanding the first occurrence i.e "uma descrição clara e precisa do objeto". Could it be "purpose"?
The sentence is as below:
"de forma a prover não apenas uma descrição clara e precisa do objeto como da matéria objeto da proteção"
Thank you in advance, dear colleagues!

Mark, I suggest you post it as an answer.
What sort of patent is it? Design or utility? What is patented?
The first "objecto" could be object or purpose, more probably object. The second "objecto" is the subject matter of the protection provided by the patent.
