Portuguese term or phrase: cardiologia portuguesa
"A ***cardiologia portuguesa*** em África: a cooperação com o Instituto do Coração de Maputo."

"O projecto do Instituto é seguramente o maior programa de cooperação em que ***cardiologia portuguesa*** se envolveu nos últimos anos e uma experiência pouco comum nos países da África subsaariana."

I’m trying to find a way to say this in English. “Portuguese cardiology” does not seem to make much sense because there’s no such thing as “American cardiology” or “British cardiology.” At the same time, I don't think I can say “Portuguese-based Cardiology” because it’s not based in Portugal and that to me wouldn’t make sense either.
The text I am translating, which by the way is a nightmare text, is about creating centers for cardiology with the help of organizations and cardiologists from all over the world, including Portugal, hence, the “coronária portuguesa” in the text. Would it be inaccurate to translate this in this context as “Portuguese cardiologists?”

Thanks, guys!

"Portuguese cardiology"
Explanation:
Eu certamente que diria assim, e entre aspas, para dar um ênfase ao termo. Desta maneira, e o termo em geral, significa tudo aquilo que se refere à cardiologia em Portugal ou portuguesa, os seus serviços, métodos, técnicos, etc. Acho absolutamente natural falar-se da "cardiologia portuguesa, ou inglesa, ou brasileira, ou qualquer outra".

I think when it first appears you could say "Portuguese Cardiology in Africa" but in the second line in which appears, your suggestion of Portuguese cardiologists fits better...

Portuguese cardiology practices

Explanation:
This is probably what I would use. I suppose physicians in different countries deal with diseases in slightly different ways - that is, the way they practice their profession varies a bit. If a person has a heart attack for example, what is the exact protocol in Brazil and in the USA? Like in what order are all the different measures taken to try to save the person? So I think adding the word "practices" works pretty well.

-> Fácil António: eles mostram que a expressão usada é "Portugal Cardiology", e não "Portuguese Card.", que soava estranho (e com razão) aos ouvidos do Sormane. Usa-se o nome do país, não o adjetivo pátrio. Viu, como são relevantes? Obrigado.

Explanation:
Standing alone, the phrase doesn't make sense, but if you bookend it with some appropriate context, it doesn't sound quite so weird. I did searches on various nationalities+cardiology and did fine a few examples of this type of structure, as if referring to the body of work developed in that country.
