@lara What I meant was that the document is pre-1961, when Goa was a Portuguese territory and hence all official documents before 1961 were written in Portuguese. In Goa, there are also some local terms used which makes Goan Portuguese quite distinct.

@ Mark Do you mean an older era? I don't understand what you mean "Portuguese era", an era must be defined before we know what it refers to.
Also, what are the surrounding sentences. We have many specialist words for different contexts/registers/styles etc, i.e. "quarter" "district" etc
