This is the general word we use (you have a countable and non countable noun) and it describes a wide range of partitions.
Just Google 'partitions' and 'building' (Google images) but avoid the word 'architecture' in your search otherwise you get 'hard drives and how to partition them' !
Interesting to note that it almost has the opposite sense of the swedish to describe the same idea (divide a room v create a room)
