This is a common phrase in US and UK financial reports, with many Google hits. See also refs below, particularly the second one from Dow Jones about 'market moving news'.

Another phrase often seen is \'market-sensitive\'. But I think for strategic contracts and orders, \'market-moving\' is the more natural expression, because it implies the share price has moved. In contrast, \'\'market-sensitive\' implies only that some information might move the market. Or to put it another way, new information is market-sensitive before someone deals, then market-moving as a result of such insider deals.

Marco, not sure why you disagree. Your definition "corporate actions that effect (you mean affect!) the price of shares in a company" is a good definition of "market-moving".
