Hi Helen, I think "bifurcated diagonal branch" should work. Have a look at "bifurcation" in the medical part of "The free dictionary" online for the definition of bifurcation.

Unfortunately it doesn't go into detail in that regard Liz, although it does mention a circumflex with a large OM branch
