Hello everybody,
Does anyone know how to view the number of untranslated words in (CBG) Transtool?
Thank you very much in advance!

Not that I know of
Jul 28, 2010
Hi Noemi,
I use the tool on a frequent basis, and I don't think it has a built-in wordcount facility.
My imperfect workaround is to export Original new segments, open the export file in Word, and check the wordcount there. However, this only makes sense for larger projects.

A brief comment

Hi Igor, as you probably know, Trados is "a" tool, not "the" tool.
Especially when it comes to networking and TM servers, some companies prefer developing tools of their own over paying for costly TM server licenses. I can see good reasons for that, although I'm definitely not a fan of Transtool.

How does Transtool wordcount compare to Trados wordcount?
Jan 27, 2015
Hi there,
For the people checking Transtool wordcount through text export and Trados analysis, I am wondering how both wordcounts usually compare. I just did this and the Trados wordcount is 20% more than the agency-provided wordcount. Is that your experience also?
Thank you.

Because people don't have Trados?

Many of us don't feel the need to purchase a CAT tool, much less a specific one. I don't love Transtool, but I'm willing to use it when it's provided at no cost. Under no circumstances will I work with a company that requires me to buy Trados.
