I have received the same email in 2 different email box of mine requesting the same service into French.

I believe they received my information from the ATA database because I received the e-mail directly with an attachment. The document in the attachment was copied from a PDF posted on the internet. They changed the dates to make it seem as if it was a current document, when in fact, it is from 2004, if I recall correctly. Everyone is advised to disregard it as spam. | | |
I received exactly the same message (with same mistakes / typos), with attachments, for both Dutch and Hebrew. I guess you're right, Bryan: seems as if the information was pulled from the ATA-database. When will these people stop?? It's such a waste of time, for all of us ... | |

Hi, Many of us received it. I just want to say that nobody should treat it as a joke. It is a phishing scam. Some years ago, a good number of interpreters fell for a scam similar to that. They received fake money orders and sent back real money in order to guarantee a job offer. Most fell into it because they wanted to make easy money, but it does not justify the whole thing. According to the other websites, this sender (the same name, phone number and email address) will ask you to send money by Western Union. We have to be able to recognize the warning signs, such as Dear Sir/Madam, typing errors, grammatical mistakes....and even if the email does contain your correct name, it does not guarantee that it is legit. Scam only exists because there are people who respond to it. Replying is the worst you can do... Do not fall for a phishing scam...
