Although I hope that before too long there will again be a steady flow of requests from authors for bids to translate books that are of interest to me. I am, though, currently working as a freelance researcher for a professional here in the US who will be writing a book, based on my findings. He is allowing me to do the work at a very relaxed pace, a far cry from the feeling of urgency I experience when doing even a large book translation, when the client often gives me a fair amount of leeway when it comes to submitting my English-language version of her/his work or works. But translation work, esp. literary translation, has by far taken up the majority of my working life years. But no matter what, my main focus and interest will always lie in the latter. Like a wise person once told me, "Translation runs in your blood."
