Never, because I never accept work from clients like that. I need to have full control and I need to do my translations my way, with my tools so that I can ensure quality, delivery time, etc.

None of my existing clients ask me, but new clients perhaps 30%. I politely tell them that I use my own translation tools and am willing to send my output as a Word document, pdf or in another form that can be generated by my CAT tool. Some agencies are so tied to their systems that they terminate the contact and don't give me any work, others are more adaptable. I think you have to make a judgement call on how you are prepared to work.

I use many different CAT tools e.g Wordfast, MemoQ, Wordbee, Memsource, SDL GroupShare, Accord and more.
At first I thought it was a real bother, but now I have learned to master them all and it's kind of fun.

As a literary translator, I have never used any CAT tool. Nor do I ever plan to. But I have noticed, particularly over the past year, that almost every one of the projects posted on this site, no matter what the subject matter, even those that in the past were considered more literary or creative in nature, now require the use of some tool or special platform to perform the work. Yes, even a book translation agency that contacted me late last year to do a translation that complemented my previous literary and academic experience suddenly disappeared off the radar after they asked me if I had a certain tool to accomplish the task and I responded "no". Anyway, it seems that human literary translation may indeed fall prey to MT at some point, too. However, I have a plan up my sleeve when it comes to creating more literary translations, ones that will never require me to use any tools or MT and which will be multiple times more lucrative than working for any book translation agency, even if I were to do more than a few projects for one of those. It will also give me the freedom to translate meritorious works of my own choosing, and will allow me to work under just about stress-free conditions. What a relief all of that will be! And there will be no more waiting around for the next appropriate project to come my way through any translator websites, or any other writing or job posting sites!

Not clients, but agencies. And most of the time, they will as for Trados. I perform the translation using CafeTran and it works like a charm. Only on very few occasions, I've had clients who require a specific CAT tool.
But it also depends on the field. For example, in literary translation, I will never use a CAT tool.

Which is very easy to use. Otherwise I do not use any CAT tool, because they hinder my job.

Most of my customers use specific CAT tools für specific end-clients. I just take the liberty to reject anything to be translated using tools I do not enjoy working with.

Tip for a related poll: How often do your clients require you to work using a CAT tool not of your choosing. Because sometimes the client's required tool is also my preferred tool... does that count?

I also engage in CAT hopping. However, I prefer not to work with a program's files unless I actually have that program to test the file in or to do some of tasks in.
I do 99% of my work in Wordfast Classic 6, but I do have Trados, Wordfast Pro and MemoQ installed, and I do use those programs during some parts of my translation of their files, but the actual text processing is done in my preferred CAT tool. I would not try to deal with a foreign CAT tool's format (if I don't have that tool myself) in one of my programs unless I've made the client aware of this fact. If something goes wrong, it's better if the client had agreed to the risk beforehand.
So, I would not translate e.g. an SDLXLIFF file in e.g. Wordfast Pro and then just send it straight to the client without first checking the final SDLXLIFF file in Trados itself again.
