CAT Tool for WordPerfect?

Hi everybody!

One of my most important clients demands that I use WordPerfect. Well, the customer is king, as they say, so I use this software. What I would like to know, is there any CAT tool for WordPerfect available? I know neither TRADOS nor Wordfast work with WP, but is there anything else?

Hello Hugo,

I assume your client asks you to produce WordPerfect files. Well, Word can read and create WordPerfect files. In other words: You should be able to use Word to do your work so that you can use MetaTexis, Wordfast, or TRADOS.

does have a filter for importing WordPerfect projects; I have never used this particular filter myself, but I suppose it works as smoothly as the others.

Reportedly DejaVu can handle WP, but it did not test it myself.

OpenOffice.org can read and write Wordperfect files (either natively or with the filter). See here:
http://wp.openoffice.org/filter.html

According to http://libwpd.sourceforge.net/, the plugin WriterPerfect is bundled with OpenOffice.org 2.0, so you don't have to install it separately unless you're using OOo 1.x.

Several CAT tools can translate OOo files, foremost OmegaT.
