: I don't understand changing meaning. "Feasible" - can be done. "Целесообразно" - is appropriate, reasonable, advantages accrue./Context: natural non-homogeneity of materials = good; likewise good to introduce non-homogeneity artificially in uniform ones.

I'll admit you could be right, although I think "reasonable thing to do" might be better than "ought to be done." Lacking broader context, though, it's hard to be sure exactly what the author had in mind.
