I am a Spanish-English interpreter and translator with over 30 years' experience. I am not just a language bridge; I am a cultural bridge. More than translating words, I translate culture, with deep cultural sensitivity that builds trust between people. My professional background is unique: I am currently working as an interpreter, translator, and community engagement specialist. Previously, I worked in engineering (USA and Paraguay), hydrology (Nicaragua), human rights (Mexico), Catholic prison ministry (Mexico), and in non-profit organizations that serve the Latinx community (USA)-- always doing interpretation and translation as part of my job or on the side. I organized day laborers, which gave me sensitivity to the specific language and culture of poor immigrant workers. I am also an amateur musician. I am currently in Oregon (USA) after 18 years in Mexico. Previously I worked as an interpreter for religious delegations to Mexico. I have translated technical manuals, song lyrics, reports, letters, articles, and even a 60-page labor union contract.
