I don't see a legitimate reason why CAT tools and MT Sep 30, 2013

should not be ignored by the translation theory -- they are not a part of linguistics, but rather a part of some support services within the same realm as word processing.

MT for professional purposes -- "Just Close it and Forget it".

MT for any other purposes -- "Let's Have Fun."

CAT tools and MT are not a part of linguistics, but... Sep 30, 2013

I do not thing that we should "just close and forget" CAT tools. They are sometimes a problem, but are very useful when especially a translation between two languages of the same language group is concerned.
