This is a great dictionary, more or less recently published (1999, first edition), whose compilation was led by one of the most respected members of the Spanish language "Real Academia Española", philologist Manuel Seco. What I like most about it is that it has numerous examples (usually from newspaper articles) about the usage of words. Good to contrast it with, for example, the María Moliner similar dictionary.
A great dictionary. I use it frequently to look for examples of use of some word, or to double-check the use of adverbs and expressions. I sincerely recommend it to anyone translating into Spanish or in general working with the Spanish language.
