Hello and welcome to my profile! Reliable and punctual, perfection is more my personal goal than my customers' desire.

My working experience started as a registered nurse in the surgery ward of St. Anna Hospital (Varna, Bulgaria), after I graduated from the Medical College in the same city. As a RN I provided perioperative care outside of the sterile field, which included caring for patients prior to surgery and during recovery after surgery.

Later I earned a Master of Science degree in Ecology, and a Master of Arts degree in Journalism - from the Technical University Varna.

I had been tutoring English for ten years to Bulgarian native speakers (both children and adults, 1995-2005) before moving to the States in January 2006.

While in Bulgaria, I translated a biography written by an English journalist ("Julia Roberts Confidential", by Paul Donnelley) for Ahbaka Publishing House, 2004, Sofia.

I also translated numerous scientific articles (biology, anatomy, genetics, neurology, dentistry, cardiology, dermatology, botany, environmental science...), as well as brochures, poems, letters, songs, menus, etc.
I interpreted for a construction company in Varna during their regular meetings with English house-owners (2003).

In 2011-2012 school year I taught Life Science (Biology) in middle schools in Indianapolis, IN, as a student-teacher in the Teaching Program at the University of Indianapolis and as a laureat of the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation.

I tutor English and Bulgarian - 2010, present; Indianapolis area, IN. I also help with test preparation (SAT, ACT, GED, TOEFL...)

I have interpreted in business setings, and in court settings. As a former RN, I mainly interpret in the medical field because I am familiar with the medical terminology both in English and Bulgarian. I have interpreted in many hospitals -St. Vincent Hospital (IU Health), Hematology Oncology of Indiana, St. Methodist Hospital, Urology of IN, Community Health Network, IN Orthopaedic Center, St. Francis Kendrick Family Medicine, South 31 Family Care, Community North Heart And Vascular, St.Francis Pain Specialists, St. Francis South Imaging, Podiatry Association of IN, Riley Hospital - IU, IN Hearth Physicians, IU North Hopsital, St. Francis Behavioural Health Center, Marion County Health Department, International Adoption Clinic, People's Health And Dental Center, etc.

I write poetry in Bulgarian and English and am a published author.

My respect for words draws my attention to every detail in every sentence and I know that "there is always a better word".
When translating, I do detailed research work and I always make sure that I perceive the meaning between the lines, so my readers get the true feeling of those reading the original text. I do not sacrifice quality in order to get a product out the door on time. My Bulgarian-English translations are always proofread by a native English speaker, which is included in the price.
