I apologize if this issue has been addressed in another thread, if so, I havn't seen it.
I find the new layout not convenient at all when you want to offer a reply to a question asked and you click on the answer button. If someone else has answered before, the box in which you can enter your answer actually appears below that of the first answerer (or answerers) so that you need to scroll all the way up again to view the question in its entire context. The point is: you no longer can view both question and answer on your screen together.
Can this be helped ? cat tools help us get the clearest possible display of both source and target segments, so should the Kudoz layout.

I think it has been raised before (at least in some of the forums for other languages) but I must say that I agree... not only that, but I personally find the increased amount of information in the answer boxes and general layout otherwise a little less easy to read. I don't suppose there is any chance we could go back to the "dual" system (i.e. having a choice between the old and new designs) but it would be nice!

P.S. I've just noticed that we are now also told whether an agreer/disagreer/"neutraller" (what could we call them collectively, "commenters"?!) "meets the criteria", yet for the life of me I cannot work out what these criteria are (most questions are not directed only to certain categories of translators). Have some unknown extra criteria come into play here, or is this just a "default" message which will appear on all comments regardless of whether the asker has set any particular criteria for the question or not? In the latter case it's just more unnecessary clutter, in my view.

I agree with Ms Watrin that the new layout is not as user-friendly as the old one. I also think it's too cluttered. Is there a way we could use an earlier version?

How much more information is going to be crammed into the question/answer boxes in Kudoz? I find the "(meets criteria)" after a (dis)agreer's name extremely annoying.

I too would prefer not to see "meets criteria" after all the responses. I can see the point of providing this information to the answerer, but could it be arranged that only the answerer sees it?
As for the problem with which this thread started, my own answer to it is to copy the question, post in into the answer box, write my answer above it and then delete it. But all this should not be necessary.

I really agree with Cecile!
I find the old layout friendly, but not this one. Is there any possibility to have it back? Why are so many changes taking place?
I would also prefer not seeing "Meets Criteria" either.
Is it necessary to keep everything upgrading at Proz.com?

I don't like the new layout because you get the impression to fill in a form and it takes long especially when you're working and you want to help. The system of ticking and short information were more user-friendly....
